A later impression of EE1, in which a number of changes was introduced, i.a., on the basis of GE2mar, e.g., addition of dynamic signs, mostly hairpins, as in bar 8.
Other changes were most probably drawn from FE4, e.g., addition of Lento in bar 1. Other could have been noticed both in GE and in FE4, e.g.:
- addition of signs in bars 11-12;
- restoration of a1 at the end of bars 37 and 53.
Among other changes introduced in EE2 one can mention routine additions of accidentals. There are also completely arbitrary revisions, e.g., change of to in bar 61.
The copy presented in mUltimate Chopin comes from a later (ca 1868) impression, endorsed already by Wessel's successor, the Ashdown & Parry company – see the 1st mov. of the Sonata.
