FE1, based on A, generally faithfully reproduces the text of the base text. The edition was then corrected by Chopin, who introduced a few changes and additions:
- he added a slur in bar 21;
- extended g2 in bar 27;
- added a in bar 46;
- added pedalling in bars 54, 58-61;
- changed E to C in bar 60.
FE1 is not free from more or less obvious errors, out of which the most important ones are the erroneous note in bar 13, overlooked wedges in bars 33-35 (the ones Chopin omitted in A in bars 25-26 and 38 were also not added) and quite numerous inaccuracies adopted from A in the notation of accidentals, e.g., missing flats in bars 21-26 or 33 or the missing returning g1 in bar 46.
In certain cases, missing indications can be explained with an inaccuracy of the engraver or Chopin's proofreading, e.g., legato in bars 9 and 11 or in bars 35-38.
