Title: | Etudes || 2me Étude |
Dedication: | Madame la Comtesse d'Agoult |
Pupil's copy of FE3 from the collection of Chopin's pieces belonging to his pupil, Camille O'Méara-Dubois. FED includes the following additions written in pencil by the composer:
- the fingering – see bar 1;
- correction of a mistake – removal of the in bar 44;
- variant in bar 67;
- two lesson notes – accent in bar 66 enhancing the printed sign or only reminding about it and a vertical line underlining the need to clearly perform the characteristic slurring in bar 57.
Taking into account the detailed development of the Etude, one can wonder at the missing correction of the error in bar 56 – it probably means that the pupil, following the analogy, played the correct text here.
