Title: | Douze Etudes || No. 13 |
Dedication: | Mme. la Comtesse d'Agoult |
EE3 returned the dedication, overlooked in EE2, placing it over the note text on the 1st page of the Etude. Among the changes in the note text it is the additions of accidentals that prevail, both necessary (the flats returning e2 and e1 in bar 6 or the raising d1 in the R.H. to d1 in bar 24) and cautionary ( before the first g1 in bar 23). Quite a numerous group is constituted by added signs of a reminding character, actually unnecessary, e.g., repeating before the notes on the 4th beat in bar 22 signs used already in this bar; similarly in bar 23.
Some of the introduced changes, e.g., the added in bar 12, indicate it was probably GE1 that was the basis for the revision.
Despite numerous additions and corrections, certain errors remained unnoticed – d1 in bar 20, as well as missing naturals before d1 in bar 22 (in the R.H.) and 23 (both).
