b. 155
|
composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt I
..
According to us, the pedalling of A is written inaccurately in this bar, which was probably caused by the transition to a new page and distraction at the time of writing the same bar for the third time – in bar 157 the pedalling is again compliant with bars 151 and 153. The versions of the editions are certainly arbitrary – cf. bars 151-153. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Inaccuracies in GE |

b. 155-156
|
composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III
..
In GE1 only bar 155 was embraced with a slur; the version is either inaccurate or arbitrary. The correct range of the slur was restored in FE (→EE), probably at Chopin's request. GE2 also has the correct text. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GE , GE revisions , Authentic corrections of FE |

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt I

Placing the mark only just under the 2nd quaver must be a result of misunderstanding of the notation of the handwritten base text – due to the lack of space, Chopin would often put pedalling marks next to low-located notes. category imprint: Interpretations within context issues: Inaccuracies in FE , Errors repeated in GE , Errors repeated in EE |

b. 155
|
composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major
..
In the main text we place the cresc. - - - between the staves, for it pertains not only to the progression of the L.H. Chopin wrote it below the lower staff probably out of concern for the legibility of A – in bar 156 the semiquaver beams and stems are written between staves and make placing the indication there virtually impossible. FE and EE introduced a similar shift. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: EE inaccuracies |
