b. 121-122

composition: WN 29, Waltz in E minor

only in b. 97-98 in sources

Pedalling in both passages suggested by the editors

..

A two-bar pedal is marked in the sources only the first time this section appears (bars 97-98). It is most probably an oversight, hence in the main text we include (by means of the repeat sign) the marks given the first time in both places.

b. 121

composition: Op. 49, Fantaisie in F minor

..

In the 1st chord FE1 overlooked the  raising d2 to d2. The patent mistake was rectified in FE2. See also bar 123.

b. 121-122

composition: Op. 49, Fantaisie in F minor

Slur in A (→GE), FE & EE2

No slur in EE1

..

The missing slur in EE1 must be an oversight, corrected in EE2 after comparing it with GE1 (the e1 crotchet was also added at the beginning of bar 122, removed in FE – see the next note).

b. 121-123

composition: Op. 12, Variations in B♭ major

..

The change of wedges in bars 121 and 123 to staccato dots in GE resulted from general revision by this publisher – see the note in bar 7. However, the same change in EE can be puzzling, as EE generally kept the wedges printed in FE. According to us, it is an arbitrary revision inspired by the dot at the beginning of bar 121. The reviser also modified slurs – see the preceding note. See also bar 140.

b. 121

composition: (Op. 4), Sonata in C minor, Mvt I

..

In A there is no  to the top note of the 2nd R.H. quaver (f3). The patent inaccuracy was corrected in GE (→FE,EE,IE).
In the main text we omit the unnecessarily repeated  to e3 in the last quaver in the bar. The change was also introduced by IE.
