The copy of EE3 presented by mUltimate Chopin comes from around 1866 and was already prepared by Wessel's successor, the Ashdown & Parry company. It is most probably a reprint (with minor changes to the extra-musical elements) of an impression prepared still by Wessel, probably in 1856-1860*. The title and dedication – see the characterisation of EE2.
With respect to EE2, quite numerous changes were introduced, e.g. a number of accidentals was added, missing or cautionary.
Some of the changes were drawn from FE (probably FE2 as indicated by the correction in bar 356, as well as a comparison of the chronology of individual impressions of both editions), e.g.:
- in bar 8 con 8 - - - was added under the three F crotchets;
- inserts illustrating the orchestral part were added in bar 258, 260, 261 and 262;
- naturals were added in bar 269 (cautionary) and 370.
