Dedication: | Monsieur le Baron de Stockhausen |
In FE2 a few mistakes of FE1 were corrected:
- the omitted accidentals were added – a to the top note of the a1-a2 octave in bar 37, a to the top note of the f-f1 octave in bar 43,
- the Terzverschreibung in bar 63 was corrected – change of the 6th quaver from b1 to d2,
- a slur over the first 4 quavers in bar 121 was added,
- the erroneous c4 note was changed to b3 at the beginning of bar 162,
- an accent was added in bar 165.
The last three changes, in which the result of the proofreading diverges from the text of A, were almost certainly inspired by Chopin. The change of the last two crotchets in the quintuplet in bar 171 is also undoubtedly authentic; in this bar, the correctly printed text of A was replaced by another version.
