Dedication: | Monsieur F. Kalkbrenner |
A pupil's copy from a collection belonging to Camille O'Méara-Dubois. It contains numerous annotations performed in pencil both by Chopin and the owner of the collection, Miss O'Méara. They prove that the Concerto was being thoroughly developed during lessons with Chopin.
Above all, the annotations cover fingering; they are to be found in bars 18-19, 26, 67, 94, 98, 116, 117 and 122.
In addition, in FED one can find a few corrected mistakes and printing inaccuracies, e.g. in bar 45, 78, 108, as well as numerous performance indications, e.g.:
The entry in bar 59, not quite legible, most probably marks a variant consisting in repeating the c3 note a few times.
