Title: | Douze Etudes || 6me Etude |
Dedication: | Madame la Comtesse d'Agoult |
In this Etude the most serious arbitrary intervention of the reviser of GE3 is the addition of sharps raising a1 to a1 in the ending of bar 52 and a2 to a2 in bar 56. In addition, a cautionary was added before d2 at the beginning of bar 19.
The remaining changes are of a generally ordering character, organising the rhythmic notation:
- a semiquaver rest was added at the end of bar 30,
- in bar 59 crotchet rests were changed into pairs of quaver rests.
Other visible changes seem to be rather flaws of print – inaccurate reprint of some of the endings of slurs, fingering, articulation signs or accidentals, until a complete omission, e.g., a before the 8th semiquaver in bar 4, the 3rd semiquaver in bar 21 and the 2nd semiquaver in bar 59, wedge over the quaver in the R.H. in bar 22 or '5' over the first semiquaver in bar 47.
Dating of GE3 – see the Etude in A major, No. 1.
