In the main text we add a cautionary  next to b1 in the R.H. An identical pencilled addition, probably performed by Chopin's hand, can be seen in FEJ. The GE1 (→GE2) version must be an erroneous revision, one of a few in bars 185-186: see the note at the beginning and in the middle of the next bar. In GE3, the  lowering b1 to b1 was deleted.

There are no naturlas restoring d1-d2 on the last semiquaver in the R.H. It is a patent inadvertence of Chopin's.

The slurring of particular sources seems to convey Chopin's idea only approximately. In the main text, we suggest an interpretation of the slurs of GC based on the slurs written in a more precise manner in analogous bars 57-60. See also bar 189.

FE1 (→FE2) features an E as the 1st note in the L.H. This striking mistake was corrected only in FE3 (→FE4) and EE. In spite of the fact that it was Chopin that prepared both the proofreading of FE3 and the base text to EE, this kind of correction could have been prepared also by a reviser.
