Issues : Cautionary accidentals

b. 56

composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major

..

In A (→GC,FE) the  lowering e2 to e2 was overlooked. The accidental was added in EE and GE. All sources have a  (cautionary?) next to f1 in the same semiquaver. We omit this superfluous sign in the main text.

b. 62

composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major

..

FE and GE unnecessarily repeat cautionary naturals next to the E1-E octave. It is a result of literal execution of the manuscripts' abbreviated notation.

b. 65

composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major

Before the first chord, in all sources an superfluous cautionary  occurs next to e1. We omit it in the main text, adding a cautionary  before c1, and a  before b1 instead. The latter was added already in EE.

b. 66

composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major

..

As in the previous bar, A (→FE,EE) has a superfluous  next to e1 in the first chord. It is omitted in GC (→GE) what can be regarded as a mistake by the copyist or an intended change.

b. 70

composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major

In A (→GC,FE1) there are no accidentals before the 4th chord. The overlooked  lowering a2 to a2 was also added in all remaining sources, while in FE2 (→FE3) a cautionary  before awas added as well. Both signs added in FE2 probably result from Chopin's proofreading.
