The harmonic content of bars 185-186 was subject to fundamental changes in GE1 and GE2, which, together with the mistakes taken over from GC, completely distorted the meaning of the Chopinesque progression:
- Instead of the delays resolving to a G major chord in bar 185 and an A major chord in bar 186, the second halves of the bars, interpreted literally, are filled with static E
major and F major chords. - The chord filling the first two quavers in bar 186 is provided with a different structure than the respective chord in bar 185 – major seconds on the 1st and 3rd semiquavers were replaced with augmented seconds (= minor thirds).
The first group of changes was revised in GE3, which restored the correct text in bar 185 (except for the overlooked naturals before the last octave) and in the 2nd half of bar 186.
