b. 165

composition: Op. 42, Waltz in A♭ major

No marking in FE0

above staff in FE1 & FEG (→GE1)

below staff in EE & GE2 (→GE3)

..

The leggiero indication, written by Chopin in FEG (→GE), was included also in the base texts to FE and EE. In the latter, same as in GE2 (→GE3), the indication was placed between the staves, just after . It is probably the editor's revision.

The fact of leaving the c1 note in bar 166 is a patent error at the time of implementing the authentic correction of FE1 (→EE). As a result, in the main text we give the corrected by Chopin version of analogous bars 13-14, 61-62 and 117-118. The versions of both GE1 and GE2 (→GE3GE4) are a result of revisions unifying analogous bars – bar 165 was assimilated to bar 13 and bar 166 to bar 14.

b. 165-166

composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I

 in bars 165-166 in GC & GE2

No sign in FE (→EE1)

 in bar 166 in GE1 & GE2

..

In the main text we include the two-bar  sign written in GC and repeated in GE2. GE1 printed only a half of the sign on a new page, which, in turn, was repeated in EE2. No sign in FE (→EE1) is probably a result of the engraver's inaccuracy. Cf. bar 161.
