The suggestion of the main text refers to the slurring of GC (→GE), appearing in analogous phrases with the highest frequency. The version of EE may be considered to be an equal variant. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: Authentic corrections of EE |

Chopin changed the slur for the lower voice (a-g) to a slur over the upper voice while proofreading FE1. The latter intentionally pertains probably to the whole R.H. part and therefore to the lower voice as well. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Authentic corrections of FE |

In the main text, we give g1(2) as the 4th quaver in bar 124, introduced by Chopin in the proofreading of FE (→EE). The composer also took care of cautionary naturals before g2(3) in the next bar. The version of A (→GE) is most probably erroneous – if Chopin wanted to have a g1(2) in this place, he would have probably used the diminished chord B-e-g-d1 in the orchestral accompaniment.

The missing dots in GE may be merely an oversight; however, it cannot be ruled out that the marks were added in the last proofreading of FE – see the note on the slur. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Authentic corrections of FE |
