In A Chopin changed the RH rhythm and articulation of the 1st half of the bar as compared with AI. First editions principally repeated the A version but the staccato wedge was omitted in GE1 (FE→EE), and reproduced inaccurately as a dot in GE2.

In A, Chopin put  on the 2nd beat of bar 30 and bar 34 . The mark was included in all the first editions.

In A (→GE→FE→EE) Chopin decided to remove the  on the first beat of bar 30. A similar situation occurs in bar 34, and also in bars 6 and 10, the repetition of which constitutes bars 30 and 34 in AI.

AI has no  here; Chopin wrote it later in A (→GE→FE→EE). The marking in A is placed over the R.H. what seems to have no special meaning here. We put it—following first editions—in a standard position between staves.

There is no asterisk  in A . In the main text we give that mark at the end of the bar, just like Chopin did in the analogous bar 6. In GE1 (→FE→EE) the mark was added under the rest on the 3rd beat of the bar,  following the usual manner in which such marks were interpreted in that edition. In the editors' opinion, editorial revision is slightly more probable here than Chopin's correction. In GE2,  is placed earlier, before the rest. The mark in AI (in bar 6, of which bar 30 is a repetition) has a similar position, yet conformity with GE2 is definitely accidental.
