The missing slur over this group of semiquavers must be considered inadvertence – it is encompassed with a slur in all analogous bars. In the main text, we add a slur after bar 55 and 95. category imprint: Editorial revisions |

The fingering of FEH, which is not written by Chopin's hand, yet it may come from a lesson with the composer, is based on a different idea than the fingering indicated by Chopin in FED. In the further part of bar 24, both fingerings are much more compliant. Fontana's fingering in EE significantly differs from the indications included in FED; in turn, the discrepancy with respect to FEH concerns only the 2nd and 3rd semiquavers in bar 23. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Annotations in teaching copies , Annotations in FED , Annotations in FEH |

Due to the fact that the octave sign used to write the 1st half of the next bar was started too early, the last semiquaver in FE is an erroneous f4. The mistake was corrected both in GE and EE. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in FE , GE revisions |
