Issues : Inaccuracies in FE
b. 208
|
composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt I
..
In this context, two identical octaves at the beginning of the bar, the slur of the sources is almost certainly inaccurate. It could have been the revisers or even Chopin himself that did not notice it due to the enharmonic change of B1-B to A1-A. category imprint: Editorial revisions issues: Inaccuracies in FE |

b. 236
|
composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt I
..
The missing mark in this place is to be considered an inaccuracy – in the main text, we add the mark in accordance with analogous bar 587. A mark is placed in FE (→GE1→GE2) under the last quaver in bar 235, which results from lack of space under the low-placed bass note. In EE, the mark was placed in bar 236 over the L.H. part, whereas in GE3, the pedalling was overlooked. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: Inaccuracies in FE , GE revisions , No pedal release mark |

b. 238
|
composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt I
..
The inaccurate slur of FE was interpreted in GE as running from the 3rd crotchet in the bar, which is certainly erroneous, since in all 3 analogous places, the slur begins from the 2nd crotchet, with the entrance of the phrase led in octaves. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Inaccuracies in GE , Inaccuracies in FE |

The missing mark in FE (→GE1→GE2) must be a mistake, one of a few in this fragment. It was added in the remaining editions. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Inaccuracies in FE , GE revisions , No pedal release mark |

Grace notes in the form of small crotchets are probably a mistake of FE (see e.g. Sonata in B minor, Op. 35, mov. I, bar 208) – Chopin would use this kind of grace notes before longer rhythmic values, minims, semibreves (cf. e.g. Concerto in F minor, Op. 21, mov. I, bar 208). The revisers of GE and EE also evaluated it like that; both introduced forms of grace notes may be considered to be potentially compliant with the notation of [A]. In the main text, we adopt slashed quavers, most frequently used by Chopin. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: EE revisions , Inaccuracies in FE , GE revisions |
