In A, Chopin notated the extended values of d flat notes only in bar 68 (which was overlooked in GE1, and supplemented in #Wn2). In the proofing of FE (→EE) the composer added crotchet stems and dots to five notes, in the manner analogous to bars 63-65. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Inaccuracies in GE , Accompaniment changes , Authentic corrections of FE |

The notation of the 1st note is not quite clear in A, as Chopin gave a single extending dot for two notes of the same pitch. However, the rhythmic values used in the second part of the bar make it easy for us to guess the composer's intention. The notation of the editions is even less clear, omitting the crotchet head (for the lower voice) that can be seen in A. Still, even in that version it is easy to figure out how to perform that fragment correctly. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GE |

The rhythmic values of the lower voice do not fill the entire bar, which frequently occurs in Chopin's works. In this case we are adding a rest in order to prevent any attempts to prolong the crotchet a flat1 (because of hand span, such attempts were not probably intended by Chopin). category imprint: Editorial revisions |

The octave A flat-a flat in A is mistakenly notated as a crotchet without extending dots. The slur connecting it with the minim of the next bar proves that Chopin omitted a dot, not a rest. GE (→FE→EE) have the correct version. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions , Rhythmic errors , Errors of A |
