Two slurs in GC (→GE)

Two-bar slur in FE (→EE)

..

Same as in bars 7-8, we consider the two-bar-long slur in FE (→EE) to be erroneous. Cf. bars 65-66

b. 65-84

composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt III

Amar, the autograph of a fragment of the middle section of Marche, includes only bars 31-38, hence it is considered in the notes only in these bars.

In [A] (→GC) the recapitulation – except for the last bar – is marked in an abbreviated manner as repetition of the first section.

composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt III

Two slurs in GC (→GE)

Two-bars slur in FE (→EE)

..

The two-bar-long slur in FE (→EE) is most probably inaccurate – in bars 11-12 the same notation of [A] was interpreted differently, as two slurs. If the slurs in [A] had a similar range to these visible in GC, the engraver's doubts may be considered to be justified. At the same time, it is an indication that in bars 7-8 and 61-62, it is probably the slurs of FE that are inaccurate.

Pedalling in bars 11-12 in GC (contextual interpretation) & GE2

..

Due to the abbreviations used in the manuscripts (in bars 12-13) in the notation of bars 66 and 67, it is not clear in how many bars Chopin wanted to mark the pedalling. The possibilities of interpretation of the notation of [A], conveyed most probably by GC, were discussed in the first section of Marche – see bars 11-13. As far as the editions are concerned, only GE2mar and GE2 repeated the version from bars 11-14 here (different ones). FE (→EE) includes pedaling in up to four bars, which is certainly a mistake (cf. bar 68), while GE1 presents one of possible interpretations of GC.

Dotted rhythm in GE

Same as in bar 14, the authenticity of the dotted rhythm in GE is questionable.
