While preparing a new typesetting of the Etudes, Op. 25, the Breitkopf & Härtel company introduced numerous changes into the note text:
- dots were added in the L.H. in bars 1-6;
- the erroneous note in the L.H. in bar 3 was corrected;
- notation of accidentals was conclusively ordered, by adding the missing ones, e.g., in bars 3, 7 (correction of the mistake of GE1), 8, 10, 23 and by adding several cautionary accidentals, e.g., in bars 3, 7-8, 10, 15, 19 and 32-34;

one of the above additions is almost certainly erroneous, constituting an arbitrary change of the text – addition of a
lowering g2 to g
2 in bar 3; - dashes after decresc. in bar 27 were completed;
- range of dynamic hairpins was changed, often slightly;
- the overlooked in GE1 fingering numerals in bar 33 were added.
In GE2 particular Etudes were also published separately, provided with a collective cover, on which 12 etudes each by Chopin, Henselt and Thalberg were itemised.
