EE1 is based on a lost manuscript – most probably autograph or its copy – which, after having been written, was completely revised and corrected by Chopin. Therefore, even the versions differing EE1 from the remaining editions may be authentic (e.g., the first slur in the L.H. or ten. indications in bars 60-61). The manuscript, before it was sent to London, was most probably the basis for GC. It is indicated by a number of compatible versions of these sources, differing them from FE, e.g., rhythm in bars 4 and 8,  hairpins in bars 45-47, g note on the 5th quaver in bar 52 or slurs in bars 60-62. Nothing, however, indicates a possibility of Chopin proofreading of EE1.

On the other hand, EE1 lacks certain elements of notation, present in FE and GC (→GE), which may indicate oversights of the engraver or the copyist preparing the base text or omission of this base text at the time of changes and additions introduced by Chopin. These include, i.a.:

  • slurs in bars 6-7;
  •  in bar 19;
  • quaver instead of rest in the bottom voice in bar 33;
  • F1 grace note in bar 50.

Same as some other sources, EE1 lacks a few necessary accidentals, e.g., the sharp returning f in the 9th semiquaver of the introduction.

Completion of accidentals is most probably an addition of the reviser, e.g., cautionary naturals before b in the introduction and in bar 3, necessary  before the last semiquaver in bar 15 raising a to a in bar 24 or a few cautionary signs in bar 52.
