GE2 - Second German edition
Publisher: | Breitkopf & Härtel |

Title: | Douze Etudes || 7me Etude |
Dedication: | Madame la Comtesse d'Agoult |
While performing a new typesetting of the Etudes, Op. 25, the Breitkopf & Härtel company introduced numerous changes into the note text:
- notation of accidentals was conclusively ordered, by adding the last missing signs, e.g., a before f in the introduction, and by adding numerous cautionary signs, among others, in bars 3, 44 and 52 (only in the chromatic scale in bar 52 seven of them were added), as well as by removing unnecessary signs, e.g., the before c1 in bar 12;
- range of dynamic hairpins were changed, often slightly, e.g., in bar 45;
- slurs were reinterpreted, e.g., in bars 1, 6-7, 9-10, 27 or 60-61;
- the erroneous note in bar 26 was corrected;
- in bar 45 the misintroduced fingering '1's were changed to wedges.
In GE2 particular Etudes were also published separately, provided with a collective cover, which itemised 12 etudes each by Chopin, Henselt and Thalberg.
