Title: | Deux Polonoises favorites || No. 1 |
Dedication: | son ami J. Dessauer |
EE1 was based on FE2 and was not corrected by Chopin. It copies the majority of inaccuracies of FE. The engravers did not avoid new mistakes as well, the most significant being:
The revisers of EE1 also performed a few minor changes in the slurring, length of the accents (change of long to short) and added some cautionary signs.
The copy presented in mUltimate Chopin comes from the latest known impression, with a collective cover, on which the work (Op. 26) was described as "Les favorites" Deux Polonoises and, moreover, the dedication was overlooked.
The additions made in pencil, which are visible in the presented copy, are of no source value.
