In the main text we reproduce the fingering written in bar 47 in A (→FE). The arrangement of the digits under or above the notes indicates a division between the hands, which was misinterpreted in GE. Fontana also did not include (did not understand?) this hint in EE, suggesting a different division and repeating his own indications in bars 48-49 (except the first note in bar 49). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Inaccuracies in GE |

A does not include slurs in bars 47-48, while the slur in bar 49 is unclear and blurred. The slurs adopted in the main text were added by Chopin in a proofreading of FE (→EE,GE1→GE2). In subsequent GE,s the slurs in bars 47-48 were overlooked, which is most probably a mistake. category imprint: Differences between sources |

In EE2 there are no naturals raising d1 to d1 on the 2nd beat of each of these bars. This patent oversight is the most significant defect of this edition. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in EE |
