b. 133-136

composition: Op. 50 No. 3, Mazurka in C♯ minor

..

AI is missing b. 133-136 (as well as preceding b. 105-132) – a counterpart of b. 137 and the continuation of the Mazurka follow after b. 104. In the transcription of AI we provide this final fragment with double numeration, i.e. 105-160, which corresponds to the contents of this autograph, and 137-192, which corresponds to the final version.

Slurs in AF, literal reading

Slurs in AF, contextual interpretation

Slurs in FE

Slurs in GE

Slurs in EE

..

Two or three slurs that originate from the previous bar are continued differently due to the different placement of the slurs concerning the inner voices as well as due to the change of the function of one of the slurs of AF – the slur that began in b. 131 as an alto voice slur and led between this voice and the higher placed soprano voice minims (in our transcription placed under the alto voice) already concerns the entire R.H. part from the 2nd quaver in b. 133.

[Oboe] suggested by the editors

..

In the main text we supplement the imprecise piece of information concerning the instrumentation – in the sources of the orchestral part, including AsI, the last semiquavers in b. 133 and the topmost voice until the 1st quaver in b. 135 are performed by the oboe, joined by the clarinets (and the bassoon) only just in b. 134.

Chopin added  to FC (→GE1). It was removed in GE2, perhaps due to a misunderstanding during revision – see the adjacent note.
