b. 6-7
|
composition: Op. 24 No. 3, Mazurka in A♭ major
..
In A (→GE1→FE→EE), is written at the beginning of bar 7. In A this bar is the first in a new line, and the mark is placed distinctly before the first notes. Account taken of the phrasing, such a placement of the mark suggests it being effective from the last quaver of bar 6. This interpretation is confirmed by the notation of A in the analogous bar 30. Therefore we give in bar 6 in the main text, as already did GE2. In AI is absent from bar 6-7 altogether. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources |

b. 6-10
|
composition: Op. 24 No. 3, Mazurka in A♭ major
..
Chopin marked the dynamic emphasis on the highest note in bars 6 & 10 with a sign in AI, and with a marking in A (→GE→FE→EE). Both markings may be regarded as complimentary, but with the ultimate rhythm of the 1st beat combining them does not seem purposeful. The same applies to bars 30 and 34. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations |

b. 6
|
composition: Op. 24 No. 3, Mazurka in A♭ major
..
In A (→GE→FE→EE), Chopin changed the RH rhythm and articulation of the 1st half of the bar as compared with AI. Identical rhythmic differences also occur in similar bars 10 & 12. The staccato sign—a wedge in A—was reproduced inaccurately as a dot in GE, and omitted in FE (→EE). category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations |
