FC - Fontana's copy

Date: (II-III) 1839
Title: Vingt-quatre Préludes
Dedication: Monsieur Camille Pleyel

Copy of A made by Julian Fontana (lost, known from a photocopy) as the basis for the first German edition. As a whole, the copyist duplicated the text of A carefully, nonetheless making a number of mistakes, e.g. he overlooked  in b. 17 (for a list of more important flaws of FC in the whole Op. 28 see Prelude in C no. 1). Chopin did not correct FC.

In b. 15 and 17 Fontana added 2 flats overlooked in A (in patent situations) – lowering to g (end of b. 15) and C to C (b. 17).
