b. 338-339

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt III

FE (→EE)

..

The version of GE, contrary to the orchestral part of FEorch (→GEorch) – in the last chord in bar 338, bassoon I, violas, oboe II and flute II do not have a b (in various octaves), but a c, while in the 1st chord in bar 339, violins II, clarinets and oboe II have a f1(2) – is almost certainly completely erroneous. The traces visible in FE prove that those mistakes were originally committed in that edition, yet they were corrected in the last phase of proofreading.

b. 345

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt III

..

GE1 (→GE2) is missing the cautionary  before b2. It may indicate that the accidental was added only just in the last phase of proofreading of FE (→EE). The natural was reintroduced in GE3.

b. 355

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt III

under 2nd triplet in FE (→EE,GE1GE2)

at beginning of bar in GE3

..

There are no doubts that  is in force already at the top of the passage. The placement of the marking in FE may be explained by its shape in [A] – it could have been so big that its right-hand end was already falling on the 2nd semiquaver triplet (cf. e.g. the ending of the Etude in C Minor, Op. 10 No. 12). Another possibility is a manner of writing indications within the range of their validity – cf. e.g. the end of the Etude in G Major, Op. 10 No. 5. An appropriate shift was performed already in GE3

b. 357

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt III

..

FE (→GE1GE2) is missing the  before the 4th semiquaver, which we do not consider to be a mistake, since the 1st triplet is written an octave lower with an octave sign, and one can consider the  put before b3 at the beginning of the bar to be valid. The accidental was added in EE as well as in GE3, in which a notation without octave sign was used.

b. 358-359

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt III

..

In FE, the passage was probably reproduced strictly after [A] – it is missing naturals before the 4th, 9th, 11th and 12th semiquavers in bar 358, whereas in bar 359 accidentals are present only before the first two semiquavers. In the remaining editions, naturals were added – GE added all of them, while EE the majority of them (without the 4th and 9th notes in bar 358).
