Title: | Concerto |
Dedication: | Monsieur F. Kalkbrenner |
A pupil's copy from a collection belonging to Chopin's pupil, Camille O'Méara-Dubois. It contains numerous additions performed in pencil, both by Chopin and by the owner of the collection, Miss O'Méara. They prove that the Concerto was being thoroughly developed during lessons with Chopin.
The annotations cover mainly fingering, e.g. in bar 141, 156, 162, 169, 171, 179, 187-188, 190, 203, 216, 218, 272-273, 312, 315, 317, 319, 412, 418.
In addition, in FED we encounter a number of corrected print mistakes or inaccuracies, e.g. in bar 162, 317, 378 as well as various performance indications, e.g.:
- a slur and markings indicating the correct phrasing in bars 197 and 201,
- staccato marks (wedges?) in bar 236,
- synchronisation marks in bar 255, 403,
- correction of slurring in bars 264-265,
- slurs in bars 315-316.
