A copy of a reprint of FE1 made as part of the Oeuvres complètes series published by Brandus (successor of M. Schlesinger). It was used for work on the first source-based edition of Chopin's output undertaken by Breitkopf & Härtel. One of editors of that edition, Chopin's lifelong friend August Franchomme, entered four Chopin's variants into FEFr (in bar 1, 21, 28 and 30), marked a number of authentic changes of dynamics and corrected some other defects of FE. The authenticity of the variants and other noted changes is unquestionable, both due to the fact that they came from Franchomme and also because many of them have found confirmation in teaching copies, mostly FED.
