Title: | Deux Nocturnes. Nocturne II |
Dedication: | Madame la Comtesse d'Appony |
Copy of the earliest impression of GE1 with several pencil annotations displaying many characteristic features of Chopin's teaching annotations. The addressee of those glosses has not been established yet. GET contains changes of the text in keeping with those introduced by Chopin while proofreading FE (i.a. corrections of printing errors), fingerings, and a variant in bar 38. Intriguing is the lack of annotations concerning the dynamics: all the other annotated copies contain glosses which change the dynamic conception of the Nocturne, especially in bars 45-52.
