The slurs and ties of A, unambiguous in their meaning and extent, became somewhat distorted in the editions. In GE, due to the fact that bar 10 marked the beginning of a new line of text, the tie sustaining f2 had to be divided into two parts; although the part from bar 10 was accidentally omitted, the meaning of the curved lines printed in bars 9-10 remained unchanged and easy to guess. In A Chopin forgot to repeat the tie sustaining a flat1 in the new system. This most probably caused an error in GE1, where that tie is missing. Correcting in FE the incomplete articulation markings for the left hand part taken over from GE1, Chopin changed his concept in that respect.
