Title: | Second Concerto |
Dedication: | Madame la Comtesse Delphine Potocka née de Komar |
A pupil's copy from a collection belonging to Camille O'Méara-Dubois. It contains numerous additions in pencil performed both by Chopin and by the owner of the collection, Miss O'Méara. They reveal that the Concerto was being thoroughly prepared during the lessons with Chopin.
Above all, the additions include fingering, e.g. in bar 72, 76, 87 and 95, 96, 101-104, 107-113, 141, 146-147, 164-165, 223, 227, 233-239, 255, 318.
Moreover, in FED one can find numerous corrections of misprints, e.g. in bar 31, 41, 59, 84, 100, 139, 142, 178, 179, 208, 288, 300 as well as various performance indications, e.g.:
- in bar 85,
- possibly cresc. in bar 113-114,
- arpeggio in bar 132 and 280,
- ten. indication in bar 133,
- cresc. in bar 146,
- , , in bars 151-155.
The entry in bar 220 has the greatest value for the determination of the text, since it most probably offers an authentic correction of a mistake of A.
