In the main text, we give the slurs in the L.H. in bars 156 and 158 after A. The half-bar slurs of GE1 (spanning 4 and 3 quavers) are a characteristic arbitrary decision of this edition. In the proofreading of FE (→EE), Chopin combined the slurs within the bars, leaving – as probably less striking – an inaccurately marked starting point of the slurs. In A Chopin overlooked some of the necessary accidentals: naturals before d, d2 and a. The first and third of these patent inaccuracies were corrected already in GE1 (→FE); the fully correct text is in EE and GE2. The missing staccato dots next to the bass notes in bars 156 and 158-160 are certainly an oversight of the engraver of GE1 (→FE→EE) – the signs in A are very small and sometimes put quite far from the notes.
