Slurs
b. 70
|
composition: Op. 10 No 12, Etude in C minor
..
Lack of the slur over the 2nd half of the bar in A is certainly Chopin's oversight, corrected in FE (→GE,EE). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Authentic corrections of FE |

b. 72
|
composition: Op. 10 No 12, Etude in C minor
..
It seems that the slur in A is written inaccurately, thus in the main text we give the interpretation adopted in FE (→GE,EE). category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness issues: Inaccurate slurs in A |

b. 75
|
composition: Op. 10 No 12, Etude in C minor
..
It is unclear whether the slur in A embraces the entire bar or only the last two notes, thus emphasising the expressive gesture of suspending the phrase. Despite the fact that the second possibility seems to be musically attractive, in the main text, on the basis of the analysis of the slurs' notation in this section of A, we suggest the interpretation adopted in FE (→GE,EE). category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness issues: Inaccurate slurs in A |

b. 77-80
|
composition: Op. 10 No 12, Etude in C minor
..
The slur in A in bar 77, the last in the line, suggests a continuation in the next bar, yet there is no relevant slur in bar 78. In FE (→GE1) the ambiguous ending of the slur was reproduced, which was already avoided in EE and subsequent GE,s (the slur ends on the last semiquaver). In the main text we give the slur after the slur in analogous bars 79-80, probably added by Chopin at the time of proofreading FE. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Interpretations within context; Differences between sources |

b. 78-79
|
composition: Op. 10 No 12, Etude in C minor
..
The moment of the slur's beginning in A is unclear, hence we suggest two possible interpretations. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: Inaccurate slurs in A , Embracing slurs , Pointing slurs |
