b. 30

composition: Op. 10 No 2, Etude in A minor

No marking in CLI & Ap

 in FEcor, GE3 (→GE4GE5) & EE4

 &  in FE (→GE1GE2, →EE2EE3)

..

was written by Chopin in FEcor, yet only the revisers of GE3 (→GE4GE5) and EE4 placed both parts of the indication in a more or less correct way. In FE (→GE1GE2, →EE2EE3 seems to concern the 2nd semiquaver, whereas  – only the 4th one.

b. 30

composition: Op. 10 No 2, Etude in A minor

 in Ap

Accent in FE (→GE,EE

..

In the main text we give the accent written by Chopin in FEcor. The sign was correctly recreated in FE (→GE), whereas in EE2 it was misplaced on the 4th beat of the bar, which was then revised in EE3 (→EE4), so the accents are present in both places.
Ap has meticulously marked   waves in this place, as well as  in the L.H. We do not give these indications in the main text due to the different level of details of the indications of the version for printing prepared by Chopin.

b. 30-32

composition: Op. 10 No 2, Etude in A minor

Two single slurs in CLI

Double & single slurs in Ap

FE (→EE2EE3)

GE1 (→GE1aGE2GE3)

GE4 (→GE5) & EE4

..

In all sources there are slurs combining tritons with the following octaves (some of them or all). Two slurs in CLI are the only performance markings in this manuscript. In the authentic sources the double slurs do not appear next to all four pairs of two-note chords, however, there are reasons to think that it may be an inaccuracy of the notation. Therefore, in the main text we propose such homogeneous notation, already introduced in EE4 and GE4 (→GE5).

b. 31

composition: Op. 10 No 2, Etude in A minor

a1 repeated in CLI & FEcor

a1 sustained in Ap

No a1 in FE (→GE,EE)

..

Chopin removed a1 on the 2nd beat in the bar in a later proofreading of FE (→GE,EE). The inconvenience of the repetition present in the original version was also removed in Ap.
