In GE2, was arbitrarily added under G flat in the L.H., probably repeating the marking from bar 74. This addition, certainly faulty, was removed in GE3. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions |

The quaver a flat does not have any staccato sign in A (→GE1), which seems to be an oversight in this context. When proofing FE, Chopin added a dot above that note. In our opinion, at that stage of processing the text of the Mazurka Chopin was no longer free to choose between two types of staccato signs (see note to bars 92-93). Therefore we suggest a wedge in this place, in accordance with the markings used by the composer in the following bars in A, and also in the analogous bar 75. The dot was also added in GE2 (→GE3), while in EE the dot added in FE was disregarded. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: GE revisions , Authentic corrections of FE |

A long accent of A was read in GE1 (→FE→EE, →GE2) as a short one. In GE3, the accent was ascribed to the chord on the 2nd crotchet of the left hand. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Long accents , GE revisions |

We give the staccato dot written in A (→GE). The absence of that sign in FE (→EE) is probably a mistake. Adding a dot above a flat in the R.H. in the proofing of FE Chopin could think that it also applied to the left hand (that quaver is written on the lower staff in FE). category imprint: Differences between sources |
