b. 562

composition: Op. 39, Scherzo in C♯ minor

..

In FE at the end of this bar there is additional mark. It is with most certainty a mistake, however, it is difficult to unequivocally determine what the correct text would look like. Since the notation of the remaining sources leaves no doubts and is consistent, we adopt it for the main text.

b. 562-563

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt I

Separate slurs in FE (→GE,EE)

Continuous slur suggested by the editors

..

The division of the slur, not related in any way to the course of music, must be an inaccuracy. In the main text, we suggest a continuous slur modelled after the slur in analogous bars 211-214.

b. 562

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt I

..

The majority of the sources include naturals before the b1 and b2 notes. It is difficult to say what made Chopin write them – the only alteration in the vicinity of those notes is b1(2) in the next figure. The superfluous accidentals were removed in GE3.

b. 562-564

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

No signs in A (→FCGE, →FEEE)

Arpeggio signs in GE2 (→GE3)

Signs in brackets, our variant suggestion

..

The presence of arpeggios both in b. 560 and 566 makes us consider their absence in b. 562 and 564 to be Chopin's oversight. Therefore, in the main text we suggest adding the signs. The arpeggios were added in GE2 (→GE3).

b. 563-564

composition: Op. 39, Scherzo in C♯ minor

 &  in EE

No markings in GC (→GE) & FE

..

Additional change of the pedal in EE is most probably authentic. However, for the main text we adopt the consistent GC and FE version, as the two sources most probably based on Chopin's autograph.
