b. 301-302
|
composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor
..
In the manuscripts these bars were almost certainly marked in an abridged manner as a repetition of b. 68-70. It means that the slur present in [A] (→GE) in b. 68-69 should be in GE also in this place, yet it was overlooked by the engraver. As we adopted that slur to the main text the first time, we also suggest it here. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: Errors in GE |

b. 301
|
composition: Op. 2, Variations, complete
..
The cautionary natural specifying the sound of the 2nd semiquaver was added in the stage of proofreading FE1 (→FE2), probably at Chopin's request. It is worth noting that it was only in the editions that a clear need for this accidental manifested itself, in which the last semiquaver in the previous bar is provided with a flat – in A there is no accidental to any of these notes. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Cautionary accidentals , Authentic corrections of FE |

b. 301-302
|
composition: Op. 49, Fantaisie in F minor
..
The comparison with analogous bar 135 suggests that the A slurs are inaccurate here, particularly the one that ends on the last crotchet in bar 301. The beginning of the slur in bar 302 is written with a flourish, yet its shape quite convincingly indicates that it is related to the e category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GE , Inaccurate slurs in A |

b. 302-304
|
composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt I
..
The evident long accents in A in the middle of bars 302 and 304 were reproduced in GE (→FE) as short ones, whereas in EE they were changed to vertical. It is certain that none of the changes comes from Chopin. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Long accents , EE revisions , Inaccuracies in GE |

b. 302-304
|
composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt I
..
In bars 302 and 304, Chopin placed a natural before the b2 crotchet in A (→GE1→FE→EE). In the main text we omit those superfluous signs. The naturals were removed also in GE2. The signs reveal Chopin's way of thinking, considering the top and bottom voices independently – cf. the 3rd mov. of the Concerto, bar 422. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions , Cautionary accidentals |
