b. 425

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt I

Fingering written into FEH

No fingering in FE (→GE)

Fontana's fingering in EE

..

The only digit written in FEH (by Chopin?) determines hand position for the entire 1st group of semiquavers; in this situation, it seems natural to repeat this scheme in the next two groups, where the digit determines fingering of the entire bar. It coincides with Fontana's fingering in EE, which is described in more detail.

b. 425

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt I

Slur in FE (→GE)

2 slurs in EE

..

Chopin would sometimes use the notation with double slurs, e.g. in the Concerto in F minor, op. 21, 3rd mov., bars 472-480, yet in this case, the addition of the top slur must be a revision of EE.

b. 425

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt I

..

In FE (→EE), the  before the last semiquaver was overlooked, which was corrected in GE. Moreover, instead of a  before the 8th semiquaver (c2) the majority of the sources (except for GE3) feature a respective mark on the 5th semiquaver. It is related to the use of an octave sign to write the 1st beat of the bar.

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

c1 tied in A (→FC, →FEEE) & GE2 (→GE3)

c1 repeated in GE1

..

The lack of a tie to c1 in GE1 is undoubtedly an error resulting presumably from an inaccuracy in FC which has this tie only in b. 426 (on a new staff). The tie was added in GE2 (→GE3). See also b. 424-425.
