b. 115

composition: Op. 29, Impromptu in A♭ major

..

The arpeggio in the L.H. was probably overlooked in FE.

b. 115-116

composition: Op. 43, Tarantella

End of slur AFC3 (→FEIE), EE

End of slur in GE

..

In all GE impressions slur extends over to the first beat of b. 116. It must have been an arbitrary editorial revision.

b. 115-130

composition: Op. 24 No. 4, Mazurka in B♭ minor

Pedal release marks in A (→GE1)

GE2 (→GE3)

..

In that entire section in A the asterisks  are written at the end of the bar, after the 3rd crotchet of the L.H., and this is definitely the only authentic notation. It was basically reproduced in GE1, but only in bars 117-119, 121, 125 and 127 were the marks clearly placed; in the remaining bars they were put very close to the notes, so it is not entirely clear how the relation between  and the chord on the 3rd beat should be understood. In GE2 (→GE3), the placement of the pedal release marks is less consistent: in bars 117, 119, 121, 125 and 127 the  are placed after the 3rd crotchet, in the remaining bars - under it. In FE and EE, asterisks placed under the 3rd crotchet prevail; the placement consistent with A (i.e. after the L.H. chord)  can only be found in bars 117 and 119 in FE and in bar 125 alone in EE. There is also an asterisk missing in bar 121 in FE.

b. 115

composition: Op. 39, Scherzo in C♯ minor

Short accent in EE

Long accent in GC (→GE)

No sign in FE

..

The accent in this bar can be found in EE - a short one - and in GC (→GE) – a long one. Actually, when considering the notation of just that single page in GC, one could have doubts as to the length of that accent - our interpretation is based on comparisons with analogous bars. The absence of the accent from FE is probably an error (cf. bar 33).

b. 115

composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major

in A (→FE,GCGE)

No marking in EE

..

The lack of  results almost certainly from an oversight by the engraver of EE.
