b. 121

composition: Op. 22, Polonaise

Staccato dot in FE (→EE)

No mark in GE

..

The missing staccato dot over a2 in GE may simply be an oversight; however, it cannot be ruled out that the mark was omitted on purpose as allegedly conflicting with the continuous slur over this note.

b. 121

composition: Op. 50 No. 3, Mazurka in C♯ minor

No markings in AF (→FEEE)

 in GE

  suggested by the editors

..

In this context the missing  must be considered an inadvertence, hence we add it after the previous bars.

b. 121

composition: Op. 23, Ballade in G minor

No slur in A (→FE1GE,EE)

Slur in FE2

..

There is no reason to doubt the authenticity of the slur added in the stage of proofreading FE2. The absence of the slur in A could have been caused by corrections – see the preceding note.

b. 121-122

composition: WN 29, Waltz in E minor

only in b. 97-98 in sources

Pedalling in both passages suggested by the editors

..

A two-bar pedal is marked in the sources only the first time this section appears (bars 97-98). It is most probably an oversight, hence in the main text we include (by means of the repeat sign) the marks given the first time in both places.

b. 122-125

composition: Op. 29, Impromptu in A♭ major

..

In EE staccato marks in the L.H. in bars 122-125 were added. The remaining sources reflect the notation of A, however in FE the articulation marks in the R.H. were placed next to the notes' heads.
