Fontana's copy, prepared on the basis of the lost autograph [A]. After Chopin had introduced changes and complemented it, FC served as the basis for GE1.
Among numerous corrections and additions introduced by Chopin, one can mention:
- introduction of contrasting dynamic indications
and 
in bars 5, 9, 13, 37, 41 and 45; - added hairpins in bars 7, 15 and 43, 18, 21, 26 and 28-30;
- added accents in bars 8, 16, 17, 19, 23;
- changed slurs, e.g. in bars 8 and 44.
The copyist also committed some mistakes, the most serious of which is the omission of the e
1 crotchet at the beginning of bar 7.
The pencil additions, visible in a number of places, are a foreign addition, most probably by the reviser (engraver?) of GE1, since all were included in that edition. They concern mainly accidentals, both necessary and cautionary, e.g. in this Mazurka a 
to c2 in bars 9 and 45 and to the 2nd L.H. crotchet in bar 43 (A-a octave). We do not include these accidentals in the text of FC.
