In A1 these bars are marked in an abridged manner with empty bars, numbered from 1 to 19, which indicates that b. 1-19 should be repeated. In b. 40 Chopin additionally wrote out the L.H. part and wrote the first two notes of the R.H. part. Particular differences concerning the text in this bar are discussed in separate notes. category imprint: Source & stylistic information issues: Abbreviated notation of A |

Just like in b. 9-10, the staccato dots under the bass notes come from [A2] (→GE). In A1 the dot is written in b. 40, yet it was not included in FE (→EE), probably considering the bar to have been written approximately: it opens the group of bars marked in an abridged manner as repetition of b. 9-27; Chopin wrote out only the L.H. part in that bar. Since the L.H. part is written here more accurately than in b. 9, in our transcription of A1 we include the more accurate markings, i.e. the dot and the arpeggio mark on the 2nd beat of the bar. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in FE |

The arpeggio mark, written by Chopin probably in [A2] (→GE) in b. 9, is also present in b. 40 and 84, which are a repetition thereof. In turn, in A1 the arpeggio mark is featured exclusively in the discussed bar, in which Chopin wrote the L.H. part only. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Inaccuracies in FE |
