b. 492-493

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

No slurs in A (→FCGE1, →FEEE)

Slurs in GE2 (→GE3)

..

The missing L.H. slurs are a typical inaccuracy of Chopin: these bars along with the next two end a page of A; in the further course of this section, already on a new page, all pairs of crotchets after the bass notes are encompassed with slurs. Due to the above, we add slurs in the main text. Such an addition was also introduced in GE2 (→GE3).

b. 492-493

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

Slur in bar 492 in A (→FEEE) & GE

Slur to bar 493 in FC

..

In the main text we give the 5-note slur of A and editions. The longer slur of FC, although most probably inaccurately copied, may be considered an acceptable variant, see b. 494-507.

b. 493

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

Accent in A (→FCGE)

No mark in FE (→EE)

..

The missing accent in FE must be a result of the engraver's inaccuracy.

b. 493

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

..

In A (→FCGE1, →FEEE1) there is no accidental before the last crotchet in the R.H. It must be a mistake, cf., e.g. analogous b. 497. Oversight of an accidental necessary for writing a note belonging to a currently valid key is one of Chopin's most frequent mistakes. A natural was added only just in GE2 (→GE3) and EE2 (→EE3); it was also added in FESf

b. 494-495

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

No slurs in A (→FCGE1, →FEEE)

Slurs in GE2 (→GE3)

..

Just like in b. 492-493, the missing slurs must be Chopin's inaccuracy.
