b. 504-505
|
composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor
..
The ending of the slur of A is unclear; according to us, the final part of the slur, bent in the opposite direction, is a remaining part of an uncontrolled, further movement of the hand after finishing the two-note slur (like in the entire fragment). It misled Fontana, who led the slur to the next bar in FC, whereas FE (→EE) reproduced that slur in accordance with the scheme. GE1 omitted the slur of FC, which did not fit with the others, while subsequent GE added a slur over the 2nd and 3rd crotchets, undoubtedly intended by Chopin. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: Inaccurate slurs in A , Errors in GE , GE revisions |
