Title: | Concerto |
Dedication: | Monsieur F. Kalkbrenner |
A pupil's copy from the collection of one of Chopin's best pupils, Camille O'Méara-Dubois. It contains numerous additions of the collection's owner performed in pencil as well as some entered by Chopin. They prove that the Concerto was being thoroughly developed during lessons with Chopin.
Above all, the annotations concern fingering (in the majority of the cases written probably by the pupil's hand), e.g. in bars 23-24 and 32, 33, 42, 144, 212 and 216, 222, 226, 251, 358, 362, 381, 441, 498.
Moreover, FED includes corrections of printing mistakes in bar 375 and 486 as well as minor performance indications, e.g.:
- synchronisation markings in bar 20,
- a slur in the L.H. in bars 156-157,
- a long accent in bar 167,
- tenuto dashes in bar 380.
In bar 483, one can see two diagonal crosses, typical of Chopinesque teaching entries.
