Date: | ca 1856-60 |
Plate number: | W & Co. No. 1086 |
Title: | Premier Grand Concerto |
Dedication: | Monsieur Fr. Kalkbrenner |
Corrected impression of EE, coming from approx. 1856-1860; it was available also later, already after the Wessel's publishing house had been taken over by the Ashdown & Parry company. The copy presented in mUltimate Chopin comes exactly from that period (ca. 1864*).
EE2 corrected a number of varied defects of EE1, mainly patent, e.g.:
- a
mark was added in bar 146, overlooked during the revision of EE1,
- accidentals were added, e.g. in bar 187, 211, 265 and 267; cautionary accidentals were also added, e.g. a
before g
3 in bar 483,
- a slur was added in bars 384-385,
- erroneous f
2 was changed to e2 in bar 490.
Some of the changes of EE2 were most probably introduced after comparison with GE2, e.g. cautionary sharps were added in bar 373, 374.
