b. 358
|
composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt III
..
The 1st finger on the 4th semiquaver is almost certainly a mistake of FE (→EE,GE1→GE2) – the digit was most probably supposed to concern the next note (d1). The mistake was corrected in FED and FEH; an appropriate change was introduced also in GE3. In the latter and in FEH, in the further part of the passage, a few digits were added, clarifying the fingering indicated by Chopin at the beginning of the bar. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Annotations in teaching copies , Errors in FE , Annotations in FED , GE revisions , Annotations in FEH |

|
composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt III

In FE, the passage was probably reproduced strictly after [A] – it is missing naturals before the 4th, 9th, 11th and 12th semiquavers in bar 358, whereas in bar 359 accidentals are present only before the first two semiquavers. In the remaining editions, naturals were added – GE added all of them, while EE the majority of them (without the 4th and 9th notes in bar 358). category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Accidentals in different octaves , Inaccuracies in FE , GE revisions , Omission of current key accidentals , Errors repeated in EE |

The version of GE is most probably a Terzverschreibung error – cf. similar bar 367. A mistake can be provoked by both f notes at the end of the previous triplets and the missing before that note in FE (the missing accidental was added in EE). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in GE , Terzverschreibung error |

The notation of accidentals in FE is inaccurate – naturals are missing before the first d1 and before d3 and g2 in the last triplet, whereas the superfluous was placed before b1 in the 2nd half of the bar. In the remaining editions, all necessary accidentals were added, while EE also removed the superfluous ones. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Accidentals in different octaves , Inaccuracies in FE , GE revisions , Omission of current key accidentals |

We suggest adding an accent on the 4th quaver in the bar on the basis of a comparison with analogous bar 368. Accentuating thirds gives passages a virtuoso touch and refers to the characteristic rhythm of krakowiak . The accent was added in GE3. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: GE revisions |
